We are thrilled to announce that Alex Rossen and Julia Wider, two standout players from our Girls Academy teams, proudly represented our club at the U.S. Soccer Talent ID Center in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania, on December 18th.
The U.S. Soccer Talent ID Centers are a vital part of the Youth National Team development pathway. These free, single-day events provide elite players with the opportunity to train and compete under the guidance of U.S. Soccer Talent Identification Managers. Designed to replicate Youth National Team camps, these sessions create a high-pressure, distraction-free environment that challenges players to take responsibility for their development.
Alex and Julia were selected for this prestigious event, showcasing their talent and dedication alongside some of the top players in the country.
Reflecting on her experience, Julia Wider shared her excitement and determination:
“I am honored to have been selected to attend the USYNT ID clinic. Training in front of Youth National Team scouts was truly inspiring. It was different from anything I’ve ever experienced! The high level of competition humbled me and made me even more determined to push my game to the next level.”
Julia also highlighted the invaluable role that LISC has played in her development. “Being part of LISC and the Girls Academy has allowed me to regain my confidence and creativity as a player while giving me the support to continue developing my game,” she said. Julia expressed her dream of one day joining the U.S. Youth National Team, drawing inspiration from Alex Morgan’s words, “Dreams Do Happen.”
For Alex Rossen, the experience was equally impactful. She described it as “a surreal opportunity” that she had been working toward for a long time. A standout moment for Alex was scoring a goal during the session, a result of her dedication to improving her shooting over the past year.
“This experience proved that I can compete and excel among some of the best players in the country,” Alex said. She credited her six years at LISC for playing a crucial role in shaping her as a player, helping her grow both technically and mentally. Alex also shared her aspirations of playing Division 1 soccer in college, a goal she is committed to achieving.
The accomplishments of Alex and Julia at the U.S. Soccer Talent ID Center reflect their hard work, resilience, and the high-quality training and mentorship provided by LISC. These opportunities not only validate their efforts but also pave the way for their continued growth and success in the game.
We are incredibly proud of Alex and Julia for representing our club at such a high level and look forward to supporting them as they continue their soccer journeys.
