In a momentous achievement for both Ava Voynovich and the LISC Girls 2007 Academy, we are thrilled to announce Ava’s recent call-up to the Croatian Women’s U19 National Team Camp. This significant milestone not only highlights Voynovich’s exceptional talent and dedication but also underscores the quality of the developmental pathways available at LISC.
Upon receiving her call-up, Ava expressed her excitement and gratitude, reflecting on the pivotal role that LISC has played in her journey to this point: “My initial reaction when I received the news was excitement. For many years I wanted to play on the national level, so when I was given the opportunity, I was extremely grateful and excited…This opportunity reflects my journey at LISC because training in a team environment weekly has prepared me to adapt to a new environment and how to play with new teammates.”
Ava credits the specialized training at LISC, particularly the goalkeeper-specific sessions, as crucial in her preparation for competing at the national camp: “The goalkeeper coaches allowed us to lead the sessions in terms of what we wanted to work on…This allowed me to focus on areas I wasn’t as strong in, preparing me for different situations and allowing me to feel confident going into the camp.”
Reflecting on her experience at the national team camp and a particularly memorable victory against Dinamo Zagreb, Ava highlighted how LISC’s comprehensive training and competitive environment have equipped her to excel even under the intense scrutiny of national team coaches: “We won the game 3-2 and I felt that going away with LISC to the different GA events and tournaments helped prepare me for games where I would have to focus on playing my best while being evaluated at the same time.”
This accomplishment is a testament to the hard work, resilience, and relentless pursuit of excellence that Ava Voynovich has consistently demonstrated. It also reflects the supportive and challenging environment fostered at LISC, which prepares young athletes for the highest levels of competition.
Ava’s call-up to the Croatian Women’s U19 National Team Camp is a source of immense pride for our academy, and we are eager to see her continue to thrive on the international stage.
