Uniondale, NY – February 17, 2025 – Long Island Soccer Club (LISC) is thrilled to announce the appointment of Stuart Newman as the new Interim Club Executive Director. With over 25 years of experience in coaching and soccer management across England, Australia, France, and the United States, Stuart brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the club.

Hailing from England, Stuart Newman has built a distinguished career in soccer management and coaching. His extensive experience spans multiple countries, and he has a proven track record in both business and soccer, developing players, coaches, and programs that drive success on and off the field.
Key Achievements:
- Brought expertise to the collegiate level as an Assistant Coach at Adelphi University.
- Served on the board of a National Premier League (NPL) team in Australia, contributing to the club’s strategic direction.
- In his first year with Long Island Soccer Club as a coach, Stuart has won the Fall USYS National League, EDP Cup, Colosseum Tournament, and Rudy Lamonica Memorial Tournament and successfully transitioned 6 existing LISC players into our elite MLS NEXT teams.
- Worked within the Perth Glory FC Academy Specialist School program and led senior soccer management in the NPL as both a coach and Technical Director.
- Founded Elite Football Pathway (EFP), successfully identifying and developing players who have progressed to elite careers.
Beyond coaching, Stuart has played a key role in educational soccer development, notably at Safety Bay High School, where he assisted in integrating elite soccer players with high-quality education. He also previously served as Director of Coaching at Super Soccer Stars, overseeing program development and coach education across a national youth soccer organization. In addition to his work in player development, Stuart has extensive experience in sports facility management, having overseen multiple high-performance venues and state-owned sports centers to ensure top-tier facilities for player growth and community engagement.

Stuart’s coaching credentials include an FFA B License and a Level 3 Goalkeeping License, highlighting his commitment to high-level coaching and player development. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Leisure Management and Sports Sciences from the University of Gloucester and a master’s degree in teaching from Curtin University.

Stuart is married to Steph Newman, and they have two children, Ellis and Sian, who both play for Long Island Soccer Club. The family’s involvement in the club underscores their deep commitment to the sport and the Long Island SC community.
